Opening of the Berlin Wall 25 years ago

9 November 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The highlight of the festivities in Berlin will be the symbolic Lichtgrenze installation. Around twelve kilometres in length, this frontier of light featuring 8,000 illuminated orbs will follow the line where the wall once stood. On this November weekend, there will be many other temporary exhibitions and events themed on the anniversary, inviting visitors to see the German capital from a different perspective.

Much has changed in Destination Germany in the 25 years since the Berlin Wall came down. Explore the country from 25 different perspectives and discover fascinating attractions that have opened since reunification.
